The thing that made Ayurveda's healing system special is that it believed first in PROMOTING HEALTH, AND PREVENTING DISEASE and secondly in curing diseases. The idea was to keep people healthy with strong immune systems, using different ideologies of diet, yoga/exercise, meditation, rejuvenation techniques, natural herbal medicines, and massage. This eliminates toxins and prevents diseases from getting hold of the body. A special emphasis was also given to the emotional aspects of wellbeing which were (and are) considered a very important aspect of health. Ayurveda is an ancient Indian medical science, which comprises of both practical and scientific information on various subjects beneficial to mankind. Ayurveda does not only deal with treatment of diseases but also prescribes a healthy way of life. For achieving a healthy set up of life's senses, Ayurveda calls for striking an internal harmony of various body parts as well as achieving body's harmony with the surrounding nature and environment.
Ayurveda emphasized that the medical treatment shall be oriented not merely to the disease but has to take into account, the patient, his environment, the meteorological consideration, age, sex, race, habits, habitat, diet, appetite, physical condition, mental frame, physiological constitution, strength, vitality and a number of factors like this.

According to Ayurveda, A healthy person (Swastha) is one in whom there is an equilibrium of the humours and the body tissues, with normal digestive as well as excretory functions associated with the gratification of the senses, mind and soul.
